Crafted in South Australia by Italian winemaking families and rebranded by us, Leonforte is a tribute to heritage, identity, and the power of storytelling through wine.

We select the wines with care, ensuring each variety reflects the soul of its origin. Then we do what we love most: give each bottle a name, a story, and an identity that’s truly ours.

ALTESINA
Prosecco
Altesina is the mountain that watches over Leonforte. Everyone knows it, but few actually climb it. It’s a place of silence, oak trees, and slow footsteps. Shepherds once led their flocks there, and those seeking fresh air would hike up to see the town from afar.
This wine is born from that breath: fresh, vertical, clean. A sparkling wine that doesn’t try to impress, it stays with you. Like the view from the top, when the sun sets behind Mount Etna and Sicily becomes sky.
GRANFONTE
Vino Frizzante
Granfonte was where people stopped.
To fill their barrels, wash their fruit, or simply wait their turn — surrounded by voices, sunlight, and the cold water flowing endlessly. People came to Granfonte out of necessity, but often stayed willingly.
The Fountain of the 24 Spouts wasn’t just water: it was a place of meeting, of waiting, of everyday life shared.
This sparkling wine is born from that memory: fresh, essential, full of life.
A crisp bubble that quenches like the water of that fountain: vibrant, generous, and deeply rooted in the story of Leonforte.
PITRALI
Pinot Grigio
Among the ancient stones and quiet fields of the Leonforte countryside, Pitrali is born: a wine named after a historic district just outside the town, where the land is dry, the wind smells of ripe wheat, and time seems to stand still.
Once, farming families worked this land with patience and respect. Today, that same spirit lives on in this fresh and sincere Pinot Grigio: a wine that blends authentic simplicity with natural elegance.
DONNA CRISA
Chardonnay Bianco
Donna Crisa is a name you won’t find in history books, yet it speaks of her: Caterina Branciforti Barresi, wife of the Baron of Tavi and the first lady of Leonforte. She stood beside Nicolò Placido as the town was born, remaining in the background like so many women who build without being seen.
This Chardonnay honours her: delicate yet firm, elegant without showing off. It carries the grace of those who stay close without asking for recognition, and the freshness of a presence that lingers, even when the name fades.
FONTANEDDA
Rosato Mascalese
Fontanedda is a fountain that doesn’t speak, but watches. Hidden in stone and silence, it has always been tied to the women of Leonforte. They called them “nymphs,” but they were mothers, daughters, wives: each with a story to wash away or hold close.
This rosé is born from that place: it has the colour of a gentle touch and the strength of those who endure. Delicate, but never fragile. A wine that has seen time pass: and chose to stay.
BRANCIFORTE
Syrah
Branciforte is the surname that gave birth to a town. Stone by stone, vision by vision, it turned wild land into a place of life, structure, and strength.
This Syrah carries that same character: bold, deep, determined. It has the structure of something that leaves a mark, and the complexity of a story that’s never just one. A wine that looks forward, with roots anchored in memory.
BARONE DI TAVI
Merlot
Tavi was just land, until Baron Nicolò Placido Branciforti saw more. He saw a future, drew streets, laid foundations: and from that, Leonforte was born. Not by chance, but by choice.
This Merlot carries his name because it shares his spirit: bold, elegant, deep. A wine that doesn’t speak of power, but of creation. It doesn’t impose: it remains. Like those who turn vision into something that endures.
